Fantastic Results for Year 11 - posted 25th Aug

Once again we are celebrating a magnificent set of GCSE results at Soar Valley. We had faith in our students, knew that they had worked hard, and trusted that they would be rewarded for their attitude and determination but we were still blown away by how fantastic the results are, matching, and in many cases exceeding those achieved in 2021.

Over the summer a phenomenal number of our departing Year 11 students chose to take part in the National Citizen Service programme. This is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 15-17 year olds.

National Spelling Bee Final - posted 27th Jun

The Routes into Languages Spelling Bee competition came to a conclusion on June 27th with three SVC students competing in the national final at Cambridge University. After finishing in the top three for the East Midlands Mathusha, Sumayyah and Uzma worked extremely hard to prepare for a very competitive final. Although we were not able to secure a win, for all three students to make the top 100 out of 19,672 competitors shows how brilliant they are. Well done girls, vous êtes magnifiques!

Reading Rampage - posted 2nd Mar

Year 7 and 8 students are participating this year in the Reading Rampage, a reading challenge and book award that’s taking place across the county. Students are encouraged to read any of the 12 shortlisted books, chosen by librarians and book experts, and to rate them. The winning book will receive a prize, and students who participate can also expect lots of rewards. The question is how many of the Reading Rampage books will you read?
