The only students now in school are those of critical workers and vulnerable children. Thank you to those parents who have contacted us already to say that they are critical workers and that their children will need to attend school. Should anyone else feel this applies and you would like your child to come in to school each day, please contact the school via
Some families have been contacted to invite children into school, where they fall into one of the vulnerable categories.

Work will be available for ALL year groups, as follows:

Years 10 and 11 – for most of their timetable, students will have ‘live lessons’. They will need to check on Satchel One and connect to Microsoft Teams using the links sent by teachers. Normal timetable will be followed, with most lessons being about 45 minutes long.
Years 7, 8 and 9 – students will be set work for each lesson on Satchel One, under ‘Classwork’. Lessons for each day will be uploaded by the beginning of the school day. Some lessons may now be 'live' and teachers will send information on Satchel One.

All year groups will follow the senior timetable, as follows:Covid School Day 3

Note there will be no specific core PE lessons for students. However, some general advice and support around mental and physical health will be available via Satchel One.

It is absolutely crucial that all students complete the work set by their teachers or join in the live lessons, as appropriate. Failing to do so will mean they fall behind and will find work much more difficult on their return to school.

We will be closely monitoring engagement with the work; as always at Soar Valley, we expect students to try and to do their best. Students can contact teachers by email for support and can also contact for any IT queries.

Some parents have already contacted school about borrowing a laptop. Should your child need to do so, then please email and arrangements can be made for a device to be available for collection. If you have only one device and more than one child, or if your child only has the use of a phone, please do contact us, as they will need a device each.

At the end of last term none of knew this was happening, and so we know students may not have exercise books and/or folders at home. Where appropriate, they should work on paper instead. All work should be kept and brought back into school when we return to face-to-face teaching.
