A large group of over 90 enthusiastic and highly committed Year 10 students have just completed their paired reading leader training. These students have volunteered to help younger students in the school to read at the start of the school day. Students have undergone a rigorous training programme in which they have developed key skills to help assist younger students to read with confidence. During this session, Year 10 students also received training to review their new skills and experiences to incorporate them in to their UCAS application in Year 11 and to attain recognition for the volunteering element of the Duke of Edinburgh Award or any volunteering within the wider school community.
Well done to all, who have participated and we look forward to both our Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students gaining a highly rewarding time across the reading sessions!
